Kindness to fellow man – a journey to Africa x2 !

Kindness to fellow man – a journey to Africa x2 !

From the beginning TUG started to attract and get responses from people from all layers of society and countries.

There were the professionals, Police Snipers, Marines, Soldiers etc and there was supporters, gear freaks 😉 and the everyday Joe! All interested in the small Swedish nobody brand TUG!..

One of the persons particularly stood out immediately as a down to earth and friendly person which early on contacted me with questions and general chitchat and little did I know, that this person would later go to the aid of others over the far stretches of the Atlantic not once, but twice, and use some of our stuff while doing it!

Packing your gear for a long journey is never easy..! Pack to light? Forget something? Pack to heavy? Would I be able to carry it all for myself if need be? Etc etc.. So the items a thoroughly checked and rechecked for necessity!
This is an important fact because, when standing there at your destination the “thought” of your own laziness and stupidity to bring the items you really wanted in the end but rationale(d) away when packing.. Is well… really a bummer!

Going to an countries aid is never a one man show.. Certainly there must be some organization or similar to really be able to make a difference, and oh yes there could really be made a vast difference if your heart and soul is in it to the fullest!

Not to lose track in all my babble here.., the person in question was in the end at his destination and worked hard with building projects involving, electricity water and sanitation etc.
Amongst this “good doings” some pictures started to trickle back to us with our gear placed neatly in the pictures!

To be honest it wasn´t a total surprise because we had contact before the trip but!… and this is the real BUT..!
there was this sincere caring and help, way beyond “product placement” and the thought of brining our gear into the African bush going on in these pictures.

This was the real McCoy..! People on the end of the rope getting much needed help from an outstretched hand of caring others, and this did not pass unnoticed of us!

One might think that in a way there is irony that items made for tactical use is used for non-combat reconstructing or similar “hearted” action…. You will find no such short sighted thoughts from our side; in fact we felt pride in having our gear in the midst of the work done!

R3ACH Global Community Development (USA) made these two projects possible but also the ”ONE” organization that works for…. well, check them out yourselves to get the picture!

The pictures below are from the two trips and are mixed without discretion, enjoy!

Thank you Mr. S for the pictures and for taking us along on your  journey to Africa!
