The Bush Hat…start of it all!
This is the shorter brimmed or modified Boonie Hat!
The Bush Hat, Tac-Up Gear´s first product is the result of the annoyance of Swedish Armed Forces M90 uniform items that are bound to certain services, basically the m90 Boonie hat and Bassäk Hat both great hats! As it happened i found a shortage of a field hat with brim made for the Homeguard… and in fact, all services no matter what!
The short brimmed hat has its roots in hats i have seen on the covers of books like “The men behind the trident” and “Good to Go” both Vietnam Navy Seals era books. Also books of the British elite force SAS shows hats with the brim cut short minimise disruption of sight and sound.
So there it was…. nothing extravagant just a camouflaged, thin, short brimmed hat that where made with recon, field forces in mind…. elite or not, this hat is for everybody and why shouldn´t it be?
